UEFA and representatives of European team sports federations have held a workshop at the House of European Football in Nyon, offering a platform to exchange experience, know-how and information.

The workshop brought European football's governing body together with representatives of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV), European Handball Federation (EHF), International Basketball Federation Europe (FIBA Europe) and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).

The discussions with the various indoor sports aimed to seek perspectives on the various challenges that are faced by everyone, to highlight key positive assets, to share best practices in event organisation and promotion, and to examine each organisation's core game and business.

UEFA organises two main indoor futsal competitions: the UEFA European Futsal Championship, the final round of which is staged every two years, and the UEFA Futsal Cup for clubs, which features a four-team final tournament every spring.

Each organisation presented its major competitions in terms of facts and figures, and put the spotlight on the host cities and countries of recent and forthcoming events, the key success factors and the major challenges that arise. A round-table discussion also focused on topics related to event organisation and coordination, ticketing, on-site structural organisation and human resources, commercial aspects, operations and media.

The session also looked at, among other things, creating fan experiences, splitting roles and responsibilities between LOCs and in-house teams, and development strategies.
