Kosovo signs UEFA Grassroots Charter

UEFA’s newest member association, the Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK), has become a member of the UEFA Grassroots Charter.

The signing ceremony took place in Dublin on Saturday, and recognises the grassroots work undertaken by the FFK, in particular since the association became a member of UEFA in May 2016.

The ceremony was attended by UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, UEFA General Secretary Theodore Theodoridis, FFK President Agim Ademi and FFK General Secretary Eroll Salihu.

UEFA's Grassroots Charter supports, stimulates, recognises and rewards the development of grassroots football at national level.

The charter is a quality mark setting standards for Europe’s national associations in areas such as participation (for girls, boys, women and men), grassroots coaching and football social responsibility.

It also highlights the strengths of national associations in terms of their grassroots initiatives, and aims to motivate associations to nurture their grassroots football sectors.

Annual incentive payments are made to national associations under UEFA’s HatTrick assistance programme for implementing and applying the criteria laid down in the Grassroots Charter.
