Dzsenifer Marozsán is the only one of the three-strong UEFA Best Women's Player in Europe shortlist not to have been with Lyon last season, though she has now switched to the UEFA Women's Champions League holders from FFC Frankfurt.

It was not the smoothest of campaigns for Frankfurt, who stuttered on their way to the UEFA Women's Champions League semis before finally relinquishing their title and failing to qualify for Europe this coming term. But Marozsán bolstered her own reputation as a playmaker able to get goals and at Lyon should continue to fulfil the huge promise she showed as a teenager.

Reporter's view: Paul Saffer, UEFA.com women's football editor:

  • Marozsán managed to perform at a high level for a Frankfurt team unable to match their superb 2014/15.
  • A central part of Germany's side that have already booked another UEFA Women's EURO finals place.
  • Lyon are looking to rebuild after the departure of key players this summer and in Marozsán have the world-class talent they would have been looking for.
