Group B
PSV Eindhoven 2-1 CSKA Moskva
All the goals came in a 16-minute spell before the interval, Albert Gudmundsson landing the decisive blow just after the half-hour. CSKA's search for an equaliser was hindered by a red card for left-back Ivan Maklakov early in the second period. Wolfsburg 0-2 Manchester United
United took the lead two minutes before half-time through Axel Tuanzabe, who netted via the underside of the crossbar at the second attempt after his first effort was saved by Phillip Menzel. Nicky Butt's charges doubled their advantage when Tosin Kehinde's shot squirmed past Menzel into the bottom right-hand corner. The result was not enough, however, as United missed out on second place to CSKA on head-to-head record in the tightest of the four groups to conclude on Tuesday.

Group C
Benfica 1-1 Atlético
José Gomes broke the deadlock for Benfica but was sent off late on for a second bookable offence as the Eagles finished the group stage unbeaten and held onto first place.

Group D
Manchester City 1-1 Mönchengladbach
Down to ten men for 71 minutes, City nonetheless gained the point they required to clinch pole position in Patrick Vieira's final match before taking over at Major League Soccer outfit New York City, with Simon Davies taking the helm. Gladbach's Tsiy-William Ndenge made the breakthrough from the spot after Ashley Smith-Brown brought down Djibril Sow and was consequently dismissed. Brahim Díaz levelled in first-half added time.

Sevilla 1-0 Juventus
Needing a victory to stand a chance of topping the section, Sevilla did their bit, Francisco Sánchez conjuring a fine winner in the second period – by which time the visitors were down to ten following Francesco Cassata's dismissal. However, City's result denied the hosts group supremacy.
