Real Madrid climbed up to third in Spain and both Bayern and Liverpool also triumphed, leaving Roma the sole semi-finalists not to win following their derby draw with Lazio.

Madrid moved up to third in the Liga thanks to their first victory in three games in all competitions. Zinédine Zidane rested both Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, but Isco opened the scoring with a superb free-kick in the opening half, his first goal for the club since 3 February, before Casemiro doubled the deficit.

Mohamed Salah became the eighth different player to score 30 goals in a Premier League season with the second goal at Anfield, adding to Sadio Mané's opener before Roberto Firmino completed the win. Salah has eight goals in his last five appearances for Liverpool.

Lewandowski now has 27 league goals for the season, three short of his best tally of 30 set in 2015/16 and 2016/17, with five matches still to play.
