• Born in Tartu, Reim was nurtured in the celebrated Lõvid youth team, taking his first steps in the game alongside goalkeeper Mart Poom.

• Began his career in the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic's top division at the age of 16, finishing top scorer in 1990 while playing for Norma.

• The midfielder made his debut for the newly independent Estonia against Slovenia in a 1-1 draw in Tallinn in June 1992 and quickly became an integral part of the national team.

• Spent a total of 16 years at Flora in two stints before calling time on his playing days in December 2008 having won seven Estonian titles and three Estonian Cups; also reached the Finnish Cup final during his only overseas spell, a year and a half with Kotkan.

• Voted Estonian player of the year in 1995, he came out of retirement to win his 157th and last cap in June 2009 as Estonian football celebrated its centenary with a 3-0 friendly win against Equatorial Guinea.

• Was Europe's most-capped footballer when he hung up his boots but has since been surpassed by Latvia's Vitālijs Astafjevs.

• Returned to Flora as head coach in December 2009, having served as assistant to Janno Kivisild in the latter part of his playing career; led the club to the Estonian title in 2010.

• Received recognition for his services to Estonia when he was awarded the Order of the White Star (Fifth Class) in 2011.
