Sporting slip further behind Benfica

Fourth-placed Sporting Clube de Portugal are now 19 points adrift of Portuguese league leaders SL Benfica, with a 2-1 home defeat against A. Académica de Coimbra coinciding with the Eagles' 1-1 draw at Vitória FC. João Ribeiro hit Académica's winner on the hour after Moutinho had levelled for Sporting, while Carlos Martins equalised for Benfica in Setubal.
