Former FC Rapid Bucureşti striker Marius Şumudică has signed a two-year contract to replace Ioan Andone as coach of the Liga 1 club. Andone assumed the helm at FC Dinamo 1948 Bucureşti earlier this month and Şumudică has now stepped in to fill the void. The 39-year-old, who won two titles with Rapid as a player, has been in charge of CF Gloria 1922 Bistriţa for the last six months. "It is maybe the happiest day of my life," said Şumudică, whose contract includes an option for a further year. "It is an honour to have the chance to coach one of the best teams in Romanian football."
