FC Twente missed the chance to draw level on points with Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven following their first league defeat of the campaign, 3-0 at AFC Ajax. Martin Jol's team are now six points shy of Steve McClaren's charges thanks to a comfortable victory that came courtesy of goals from Demy de Zeeuw, Marko Pantelić and Dennis Rommedahl. Feyenoord are a further seven points adrift having lost 2-1 at home to titleholders AZ Alkmaar.
