Schäfer appointed by Bakı

Experienced former VfB Stuttgart and Cameroon coach Winfried Schäfer has been appointed by UEFA Europa League contenders FK Bakı on a two-year-contract. The 60-year-old German, most recently in charge of UAE side Al-Ain FC, is the fourth man to coach the 2009/10 Azerbaijani Cup winners and league runners-up in the last nine months and will learn their UEFA Europa League second qualifying round opponents on 21 June for a tie on 15 and 22 July.
