Best Women’s Player in Europe: Hegerberg, Henry or Marozsán?

Ada Hegerberg, Amandine Henry and Dzsenifer Marozsán are the three nominees for the 2015/16 UEFA Best Women's Player in Europe Award.

Having made the ten-strong shortlist, the players gained their award nominations in a poll of 20 ESM-selected journalists who are committed to supporting women's football. The same jury will then cast their votes again from the three nominees during the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League group stage draw in Monaco on Thursday 25 August.

Norway forward Ada Hegerberg and France midfielder Amandine Henry both helped Lyon win last season's UEFA Women's Champions League. While Henry has now left for Portland Thorns, Germany playmaker Marozsán has gone to Lyon following her departure from FFC Frankfurt and just ahead of the final vote inspired her nation to Olympic gold.

All three previous winners were from Germany and have now retired: Nadine Angerer (2013), Nadine Kessler (2014), Célia Šašić (2015).
