"Simplicity is power" – the key motto behind an innovative digital project introduced by the Football Association of the Czech Republic (FAČR).

The project, named Football (R)evolution, earned the 2015 UEFA HatTrick Award in the best special project category, and FAČR president Miroslav Pelta received the award from UEFA Executive Committee member Sándor Csányi at the Czech association's recent general assembly.

The HatTrick awards are open to all 55 UEFA member associations in five different categories – best investment project; best social project; best special project; best women's football development project; and best host project. This initiative has a dual objective: recognising the outstanding work of UEFA's member associations, and providing the FAs with greater exposure within and outside the football family.

The Football (R)evolution initiative is enhancing the digitalisation of the FAČR's football administration activities – including online match sheets and referee reports, online registration of players (clubs and members), electronic databases and monthly invoice collection.

The impact of the project is that processes become simpler and bring significant improvements in the efficiency and speed of the service offered by the Czech association to members, clubs, steering committees, regional FAs and district FAs.

A number of successes are visible within the scheme. Referee reports can be prepared faster, all match results are immediately available online, and important savings are made on, among other things, paper, printers and registration cards.

The online registration of players is also simplified, bringing major savings in time, as well as logistical and financial savings. Any membership applications can be completed in a few minutes.

Congratulations to the FAČR for staging its own significant digital revolution.
