UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin has visited Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mr Čeferin made an official visit to the Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Federation (NFSBiH) on Thursday, where he held talks with the association’s president Elvedin Begić and other senior FA officials, before going on to meet the state’s Presidency and Council of Ministers.

Talks with the NFSBiH focused on the reinforcement of the country’s football infrastructure. The UEFA President pledged the European body’s continued support to Bosnia and Herzegovina to foster its domestic game, and emphasised the strong bond that exists between UEFA and the association.

Mr Čeferin welcomed the efforts being made by the hosts to nurture football at all levels. He urged the state and local authorities to play a key role in the development process.

“We already knew that the NFSBIH has worked hard to elevate itself to a high European standard,” the UEFA President said. “We are ready to help, and we have received guarantees from the public institutions, who have also confirmed their willingness to assist with the development of infrastructures.”

“We are delighted and honoured with the visit of Mr Čeferin,” said Mr Begić. “We came up with a lot of constructive conclusions which will point us in the right direction with our football vision and infrastructure development plans.”

“That way, the already excellent relations between UEFA and the NFSBIH will be raised to another level,” he added
