The 2017/18 edition of the European Football Yearbook has now been published – in association with UEFA.com.

One of the longest-running annual publications in sport, the ‘EFY’ celebrates its 30th year with an outstanding landmark edition of 776 glossy, all-colour pages that includes chapters not just covering every UEFA competition, but also all 55 of the countries that form the membership of European football’s governing body.

'Unique and Comprehensive’ was the slogan that promoted the very first European Football Yearbook. Three decades later, those words still ring true. There is no other publication – nor website – that provides such an authoritative, at-a-glance compendium of all the vital facts and figures from a single European football season.

Whatever you need to know from the 2016/17 campaign – from Albania to Wales, from the UEFA Champions League to the Women’s EURO – the 2017/18 European Football Yearbook has the details.

Furthermore, it does so in an attractive, reader-friendly form, with numerous graphics and photographs embellishing the crafted words and meticulously researched numbers.

A team of Europe-wide correspondents and contributors headed by Mike Hammond, the Yearbook’s editor since day one, have once again pooled their resources to produce an edition worthy of the publication’s legacy – and one that is sure, as ever, to appeal to European football aficionados of every age and nationality.

Zinédine Zidane, the head coach of 2016/17 UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid, has provided the foreword to this edition.

The Frenchman pays tribute to the European Football Yearbook’s longevity and importance, commenting that “future achievement can only truly be measured by what has happened in the past.”

“That is why the service provided by the European Football Yearbook, which has stood alone in archiving the stories and statistics of a whole continent over the past 30 years, is so essential to this great and glorious game of ours.”

“I am immensely proud that the Yearbook is able to celebrate its 30th birthday,” Mike Hammond reflects. “And, what’s more, to do so looking better than ever.”

“It has been an enjoyable, adventurous ride to this point, and I’m extremely grateful to all those who have contributed and committed themselves to the project over the years.”

“The fact that the past three decades of European football are documented in print in such depth and detail – and will be for ever more – provides me with a great sense of satisfaction and fulfilment.”
