Dina admit they were "not good enough" in their debut finals

Alex, Sporting forward
We didn't expect to win by such a margin, but we played very well with lots of quality. We managed to have the mentality of playing this third-place play-off like it was a final and that was the difference. We claimed third place and to be the man of the match, receiving that plaque from UEFA, gives an enormous pride. I've played 42 matches in Europe since I arrived [at Action 21 Charleroi in 2002] and I accept this award with a lot of satisfaction.

Today it was special because my family travelled from Brazil to watch these finals; I dedicate my goals to all of them. It was special to score four goals, but I have to share the credit with my colleagues. The general balance of our participation in this competition has to be positive, taking into account all the teams that wanted to be here in our place.

Roman Glavatskikh, Dina forward
I guess we just were not good enough, not prepared enough. It was obvious that Sporting were physically stronger and faster than us. For ten minutes we produced good football and a good commitment level, and then we deflated. We conceded an early goal in the second half, dropped into a tailspin and it turned into such a heavy defeat in the end. What happened, happened. It is a good lesson for us for the future.

Andrei Yudin, Dina coach
Unfortunately the team turned out to be unprepared both mentally and physically. We do not play like that in the domestic league. We do not make so many elementary mistakes. We play a lot of very tough matches in the Russian championship, but obviously they cannot be compared to games at this level – European games. The price of each mistake is two or three times higher here. The price of each player is also two or three times higher here, especially the price of a leader who changes the game.
